In the season 1 finale of Everybody Hates Chris, titled "Everybody Hates Father's Day," Chris struggles to come up with the perfect gift for his dad before Father's Day. Meanwhile, Julius is convinced that Tonya's friend has stolen money from their house and goes to great lengths to try to get it back.

As the episode opens, Chris is brainstorming gift ideas for his dad, including a watch and a tie, but he quickly realizes that both options are beyond his budget. In an attempt to make some quick cash, he starts selling candy at school, but even that doesn't bring in enough money to buy a decent gift.

Meanwhile, Julius is convinced that Tonya's friend, Keisha, has stolen money from their house. He enlists Drew's help to come up with a plan to get it back, but their scheming only leads to more trouble. When Tonya confronts Keisha about the missing money, Keisha denies taking anything and storms out of the house. Julius is left feeling embarrassed and frustrated, and he turns to Chris for advice.

Despite his own struggles to find the perfect gift, Chris manages to help his dad find a new perspective on the situation. Together, they come up with a creative gift that shows how much Chris appreciates his dad's hard work and dedication to their family.

As the episode draws to a close, the family settles in to celebrate Father's Day together. Even though things didn't go exactly as planned, they all come together to appreciate the love and support they have for one another.
