In the season 4 premiere of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes on the challenge of visiting restaurants recommended by his viewers. Aptly titled "Diners You Sent Me To," Guy hits the road to sample some of the best grub recommended to him by loyal fans.
The episode kicks off with Guy making his way to La Mesa, California to check out a spot called Swami's Cafe. Known for their massive breakfast burritos and fresh squeezed juices, Swami's Cafe quickly becomes one of Guy's favorite spots on the tour. The California sunshine and laid back vibe of the restaurant make for a perfect start to Guy's journey.
Next, Guy heads to Parker, Colorado to visit the homey diner Jack-n-Grill. Known for their green chile sauce and heaping portions, Jack-n-Grill does not disappoint. Guy indulges in a monstrous burrito loaded with cheese, beans, rice, and of course, the famous green chile sauce.
Continuing his journey, Guy makes his way to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to sample some good eats at Hudson's Hamburgers. Hudson's has been in business since 1907 and is known for their classic hamburgers. Guy chats with the owner about the history of the restaurant as he chows down on a juicy burger topped with onions and pickles.
From Idaho, Guy jets off to Summerville, South Carolina to visit The Icehouse. This restaurant's menu boasts classic southern fare like fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese. The restaurant's rustic interior gives it a unique charm, and Guy can't get enough of the comfort food on offer.
Continuing on his journey, Guy makes his way to Simi Valley, California to feast on the offerings at Mom & Pops Burgers. This family-owned drive-in is known for its classic burgers, handmade fries, and vintage vibe. Guy chows down on a burger topped with onion rings and barbecue sauce, and is transported back to the good old days.
Finally, Guy heads to Minneapolis, Minnesota to visit the quirky restaurant Pizza Luce. Known for their creative pizza toppings and funky atmosphere, Pizza Luce does not disappoint. Guy samples a pie loaded with sausage, peppers, and onions, and is pleasantly surprised by the flavor combinations.
Throughout the episode, Guy is struck by the passion and dedication of the owners of these diners, drive-ins, and dives. From the family-owned businesses to the historic restaurants, each spot he visits is a testament to the hard work and love poured into the food.
"Diners You Sent Me To" is a great start to season 4 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. With delicious food, interesting owners, and a true love for the culinary world, Guy Fieri takes viewers on an unforgettable journey through America's best greasy spoons.
