From Near to Far is the second episode of the thirty-fifth season of the popular food show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, the show is known for traveling across the United States to explore the best local fare and hidden gems.
In this episode, Fieri sets his sights on discovering the best dishes from establishments that are located both near and far from their respective metropolitan areas. He visits various places across the country, including Texas, Georgia, and Michigan, to taste some of the most unique and delicious food from diners, drive-ins, and dives.
The first stop on Fieri's journey is in Houston, Texas, where he visits a family-owned restaurant called The Breakfast Klub. This popular spot is known for its enormous chicken and waffles dish, which has become a favorite of locals and tourists alike. Fieri sits down with the restaurant's owner to hear the story of how it all began and to get a behind-the-scenes look at how they make their famous dish.
Next up, Fieri travels to Atlanta, Georgia, to visit a dive bar that has a secret barbecue joint hidden inside. This unique concept has helped to put Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q on the map, and Fieri can't wait to try their signature dishes. He samples their beef brisket, which is smoked for 14 hours, and their pulled pork, which is cooked low and slow for 22 hours. Fieri also gets to taste their award-winning wings, which are marinated in their secret sauce and then smoked to perfection.
From Georgia, Fieri heads north to Michigan, where he visits a tiny little place called Glazier's Food Marketplace. This family-owned business has been operating for over 75 years and is known for its massive sandwiches and incredible selection of meats and cheeses. Fieri gets to witness how they make their famous olive burgers, which are a popular local delicacy. He also tries one of their massive sandwiches, which comes loaded with seven different types of meats and cheeses.
The final stop on Fieri's journey takes him back to Texas to visit a place called 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio. This barbecue joint has become famous for its unique Tex-Mex twist on traditional barbecue dishes. Fieri gets to try their famous queso, which is made with brisket and sausage, and their brisket-stuffed potato, which is a meal in itself. He also gets to taste their one-of-a-kind double-decker brisket taco, which is made with two tortillas and loaded with meat, cheese, and avocado.
Throughout the episode, Fieri showcases the passion and dedication that goes into running these unique and flavorful establishments. From the family-owned businesses that have been around for decades to the new and innovative concepts that are changing the culinary landscape, From Near to Far celebrates the diversity and creativity of America's food culture.
