From classic fried chicken to loaded potato skins, this episode is all about comfort food at its finest.
The first stop on the tour is in New Orleans, Louisiana at a restaurant called McHardy's Chicken and Fixin'. Guy talks to the family about their secret recipe and gets a behind-the-scenes look at how they prepare and fry the chicken to perfection.
Next up is a visit to The Varsity in Atlanta, Georgia. This iconic hot dog stand has been a staple in the city for over 90 years and serves up classic American fast food. Moving on to the West Coast, Guy heads to Portland, Oregon to check out a food truck called Matt's BBQ. Known for their mouthwatering brisket and loaded fries, this spot has gained a cult following in the city. Guy dives into a plate of the loaded fries topped with beef brisket, cheese, and jalapeño peppers and talks with the owner about their unique approach to barbecue.
The final stop on the tour is in Santa Fe, New Mexico at a restaurant called The Shed. This family-owned spot has been serving up traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine for over 70 years. Guy tries their famous stuffed sopaipilla, a dish made with a deep-fried pastry stuffed with savory meat and topped with red or green chile sauce. He also gets a lesson in making the restaurant's signature margarita.
Throughout the episode, Guy showcases the unique stories and personalities behind each restaurant. From family-owned businesses to iconic city landmarks, "Loaded, Stuffed and Fried" celebrates the diversity and deliciousness of some of America's best comfort food.
