In the latest episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a culinary journey around the world, stopping at some of the most unique and delicious eateries that offer international flavors.
The first stop is a sushi restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii, where Chef Taiki Nakamura shows off his innovative sushi creations that marry traditional Japanese techniques with modern flavors. Guy tries a smoked salmon sushi roll with bacon and cream cheese, and a seared wagyu beef nigiri with truffle butter that leaves him speechless.
Next, the show heads to Brooklyn, New York, where the iconic Junior's Cheesecake has been serving up creamy, decadent cheesecakes since 1950. Guy samples their classic New York-style cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and raspberry sauce, as well as their newer flavors like red velvet and pumpkin.
In Barcelona, Spain, Guy visits a tapas restaurant that specializes in small plates of classic Spanish dishes like patatas bravas, padrón peppers, and ham croquettes. Chef Javier and his team use fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques to bring the flavors of Spain to life. Guy tries their grilled octopus with paprika and garlic, and a refreshing gazpacho that's perfect for a hot summer day.
The journey continues in Bangkok, Thailand, where Chef Tam Chudaree Debhakam serves up bold, spicy flavors at her street food spot. Guy tries her famous beef boat noodles, a hearty broth filled with tender beef, rice noodles, and lots of aromatic spices. He also samples her mango sticky rice, a sweet and indulgent dessert made with fresh mango, coconut milk, and sticky rice.
The final stop on Guy's trip around the world is Mumbai, India, where he visits a restaurant that specializes in street food snacks. Chef Gaurav Gidwani offers up unique dishes like tandoori chicken momos, vada pav sliders, and paneer tikka hot dogs. Guy tries his samosa chaat, a riff on the classic Indian street food dish that combines crispy samosas with tangy tamarind chutney and cool yogurt.
