However, when Empress Dowager Chee-hei learns of Kiu Fung's plan, she retaliates by using the Concubine Kai incident to her advantage. This leads to a heartbreaking reveal about the true identity of Concubine Kai and how she came to be in the palace.

On the other hand, Ko Hin Yeung and his allies continue to plot against Jian Ning. They enlist the help of Abbess Mui and task her with finding evidence of Jian Ning's involvement in the bribery scandal. However, Abbess Mui discovers something else entirely and presents it as evidence to Empress Dowager Chee-hei.

As the episode comes to a close, alliances are tested and characters are forced to make difficult decisions. The tension continues to ramp up as the power struggle between the different factions in the palace becomes even more complicated.
