Rock has been plunged into the deep end of the pirate underworld of the Black Lagoon. Working for Lagoon Company, Rock must navigate the dangerous dealings and violent clashes of the criminal underworld in order to survive. In season 2 episode 7, titled "Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise," the Lagoon Company finds themselves in the midst of yet another dangerous mission.
The episode opens with the crew of Lagoon Company - Rock, Revy, Dutch, and Benny - idly playing cards in their boat, docked at the port of Roanapur. They are soon interrupted by a visit from an old acquaintance of Dutch's, Balalaika. Balalaika, the leader of the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow, shows up with a request for the Lagoon Company. Recently, a Japanese gang has been trying to muscle in on Roanapur's turf, and Balalaika is looking for the Lagoon Company to take them down.
The gang in question is the titular Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise, led by a man named Takenaka. Balalaika wants the Lagoon Company to track Takenaka down and eliminate him, along with anyone else who gets in their way. She offers them a large sum of money to complete the job.
Dutch initially balks at the offer, but Rock takes charge, suggesting that they take the job. As a former Japanese salaryman, he believes he can use his knowledge of the Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise's customs and ways of operating to their advantage. The team agrees to take the job.
Rock and Revy take the lead, heading to a bar in town where the Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise members are known to hang out. Rock strikes up a conversation with some of the gang members, eventually convincing them to take him to Takenaka's hideout. Revy is skeptical of Rock's plan, but goes along with it anyway.
Once they arrive at the hideout, the Lagoon Company launches their attack. Takenaka and his gang are heavily armed, leading to a lengthy and violent shootout. Meanwhile, Dutch and Benny are providing backup from the boat, attacking from the water with a speedboat and a pair of machine guns.
The episode climaxes in a tense standoff, with Rock and Takenaka facing off against each other. The tension is palpable as the two men stare each other down, guns at the ready. The outcome of the fight is uncertain until the very last minute, with both men hesitating before making their move.
The episode comes to a close with the Lagoon Company successfully completing the job, but at a significant cost. They have taken heavy fire and suffered serious injuries, and Rock is left questioning the morality of the work they are doing. It's a dark and thought-provoking ending to an action-packed episode, leaving viewers eager to see what twists and turns the Black Lagoon universe has in store next.
