Aquarion EVOL is a mecha anime series and its first episode is titled A Myth That Holds An End. It starts with a voiceover explaining the legend of the Aquarion - a powerful mecha that once saved the world from destruction. Since then, it has become a myth, and many people believe it to be a mere fairy tale. However, the legend comes to life when a young boy named Amata Sora discovers that he has the ability to merge with other people and form a powerful mecha, the Aquarion.
The episode begins with Amata hiding his wings - as people with wings are feared and discriminated against in this world - and attending a new school. There, he meets Mikono Suzushiro, a girl who he feels drawn to even though they have just met. Meanwhile, a mysterious organization known as Neo-DEAVA is seen plotting something. They have discovered the existence of the legendary Aquarion and believe that it is the key to their goals.
Soon, Amata and Mikono are both pulled into the conflict. They are taken to Neo-DEAVA's headquarters and informed of the situation. They are told that their merging abilities are rare and highly sought after, as they are the only ones who can pilot the Aquarion. The two are also informed that there is an enemy organization known as Abductors, who seek to capture people with merging abilities to use them for their own purposes.
As they begin their training to become Aquarion pilots, Amata and Mikono are introduced to the other members of Neo-DEAVA. They include Zessica Wong, a flirtatious girl who takes an immediate liking to Amata; Cayenne Suzushiro, Mikono's older brother and an experienced pilot; and Shrade Elan, a talented but eccentric musician.
Meanwhile, the Abductors launch an attack on Neo-DEAVA's headquarters, seeking to capture the merging candidates. The Aquarion is deployed to fight them off, but the pilots are inexperienced and struggle to work together. However, they soon discover that their powers are stronger when they are fueled by their emotions. By working together and trusting each other, they are able to merge and form the Aquarion for the first time, defeating the Abductors and saving the day.
The episode ends with Amata and Mikono reflecting on their newfound powers and the responsibility that comes with them. Despite the danger and uncertainty that lies ahead, they are both determined to protect what is important to them and use their abilities for the greater good.
Overall, A Myth That Holds An End is an exciting and action-packed start to the Aquarion EVOL series. It does a great job of setting up the basic premise of the story and introducing the main characters. The animation and music are both high-quality and complement the intense mecha battles well. Those looking for an entertaining and engaging mecha anime should definitely give Aquarion EVOL a try!
