Watch the First Promo for the New Season of 'American Idol'

Watch the First Promo for the New Season of 'American Idol' As it gets down to crunch-time on "The X Factor," and contestants from "The Voice" like Dia Framton hit the market with their first albums, "American Idol" is here to remind you that they're still around, they're still the original and they're coming back this January.

With all of the various and sundry contracts negotiated, including J. Lo's whopping (and slightly controversial) $20 million dollar salary, the whole cast is back from last season, including Steven "Say Anything" Tyler, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and host Ryan Seacrest.

While winning "The X Factor" means winning $5 million bucks, winning on "American Idol" is proving to be more lucrative than ever these days as far as record sales.

This year's winner, Scotty McCreery recently became the youngest man and first country act to land atop the Billboard 200 charts with his album "Clear As Day", despite apparently not being as talented at lip syncing as he is at actually singing.

The new season of "American Idol" starts January 22nd on Fox.
