Believe it or not, it almost took less than a day for the Britney Spears Era on "The X Factor" to fall apart at the seams. Simon Cowell told TMZ recently that he and his people had to "half-lie" to avert the truth about a near meltdown from getting out and casting all kinds of doubt on Spears' viability on the show.

Forget moving MTV's Video Music Awards up an hour. It might've been smarter simply to swap to a different night altogether. After a record-setting 2011 telecast, Thursday night's show fell off 50 percent even with the traditional world-premiere preview of November's next (and final) "Twilight" installment.

Yeah, it's completely fair to ask, "What took you so long?!" With hit-and-run charges officially filed earlier this week, the California Department of Motor Vehicles has confirmed that Amanda Bynes' license has been under suspension since Aug. 25. Um, funny thing: the first two of her four accidents in six months happened in APRIL.

With two weeks to go until auditions start, "American Idol" looks to have its fourth and final judge. Perez Hilton reported Friday that Enrique Iglesias has reportedly been offered the final judging position for the show's upcoming twelfth season. He's currently touring alongside former two-season "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez.
