Zou season 3 episode 7, titled "Le record de Zou," finds the curious and happy-go-lucky zebra exploring his limits and discovering his talents. Zou has been fascinated with the world of record-breaking since his father brought home a book full of records from the library. From the tallest building to the longest hair, Zou is determined to break a record of his own and have his name in the book.
The young zebra decides to start practicing and find something unique that he can excel at. He tries his hand at various activities like balancing, juggling, and even acrobatics, but finds himself falling short of his desired record. Despite his repeated attempts, Zou cannot seem to find the perfect opportunity to showcase his skills.
Zou's grandfather, Papy, realizes that his grandson is feeling a little disheartened and decides to help him in his pursuit of record-breaking. The two set out together to find a suitable record for Zou to break that will put him in the book of records, without having to compete with anyone else.
As they explore the town, they notice a giant scoreboard displaying all the winners of various record-breaking feats. Zou and Papy soon meet the keeper of the scoreboard, a wise owl named Mr. Owlsteen. Mr. Owlsteen points out that the scoreboard does not have a record for the most objects balanced on a zebra. This record does present a challenge but is still achievable by Zou. With renewed enthusiasm, Zou starts practicing.
Despite initial struggles, Zou continues to practice and perfect his balancing skills. His family and friends watch as he balances everything from fruits to toys and even a mini bicycle on his back. In the meantime, Oscar, Zou's friend is jealous of his success and tries to break his own record to impress Zou and the others.
On the day of the record attempt, Zou is feeling confident and prepares to balance as many objects as he can on his back. With the help of his supportive family, Zou sets the record of balancing 100 objects on his back, breaking the previous record of 75. His friends and family cheer for him as his name is added to the book of records, along with a picture of him balancing all of the objects.
In the end, Zou realizes that breaking records is not just about competition, but about pushing oneself to be the best they can be.
