Zorro's Black Whip is an action-packed, Western serial from 1944 that stars George J. Lewis, Linda Stirling, and Lucien Littlefield. Set in the old West, the show follows the adventures of Barbara Meredith (Stirling), aka the Black Whip, who dons a mask and cracks a whip to fight against a group of outlaws known as the Phantom Raiders. The show is made up of 12 thrilling episodes, each one full of suspense and action. The first episode introduces us to Barbara Meredith, a crusading newspaper editor who is determined to clean up the town of Patriot City. When a local judge is killed by the Phantom Raiders, Barbara takes matters into her own hands and becomes the Black Whip in order to bring the outlaws to justice.
As the Black Whip, Barbara is a force to be reckoned with. Armed with a whip and a pistol, she swings into action to foil the Phantom Raiders' plans at every turn. But she soon discovers that the outlaws are being led by someone within the town's own government, and she must work to uncover the true identity of the Phantom Raider's leader before they can succeed in their plan to take over the city.
Throughout the series, Barbara faces many challenges and must rely on her wits and bravery to overcome them. She faces dangerous foes such as the masked leader of the Phantom Raiders, El Lobo (played by Francis McDonald), as well as a crooked sheriff and various other henchmen. Along the way, she also gains the support of a band of loyal townspeople who are willing to fight for justice alongside her.
George J. Lewis's portrayal of Zorro is also a highlight of the show.
