  • February 4, 2011

Zig & Sharko is an animated TV show that follows Zig, a hyena, who is constantly trying to catch Marina, a beautiful and intelligent mermaid, so he can eat her. But Marina is always one step ahead of him, and Sharko, Marina's protector, always foils Zig's plans. In season 1 episode 66, Marina Superstar, Marina gets a taste of true stardom when a film crew arrives on the island to make a movie about her.

As the film crew sets up their equipment, Zig can't help but see this as the perfect opportunity to catch Marina. With the island in chaos due to the filming, Zig has plenty of opportunities to try to grab her, but none of his attempts are successful. However, Marina begins to enjoy the attention, and her head starts to swell. She becomes arrogant and forgets about her friends, including Sharko, who is unhappy about her newfound fame.

As Marina basks in the spotlight, she starts to make unreasonable demands, such as having her own trailer and being called by her full name "Marina Star." Zig sees this as his chance to get Marina because he creates a fake movie script and convinces Marina to audition for the lead role. Zig's plan backfires, and Marina, Sharko, and even the film crew, end up getting chased by a giant robot.

In the end, Marina learns that fame isn't everything, and the most important thing is having her friends by her side. Sharko saves the day, and Marina realizes that she was foolish to think that she could succeed without the help of those who love her.

As with all Zig & Sharko episodes, Marina Superstar is full of hilarious hijinks, misadventures, and fun. The animation is bright and colorful, and the characters are lovable and memorable. It's a great show for kids and adults alike, and this episode is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good laugh and a heartwarming lesson.
