Warren's Wedding is the seventh episode of the fourth season of the post-apocalyptic horror series, Z Nation. It aired on November 3, 2017, and was directed by Abram Cox.
The episode follows Roberta Warren (Kellita Smith) as she prepares to tie the knot with her long-term partner, George (Katy O'Brian). The couple is surrounded by friends and fellow apocalypse survivors, including the ever-resourceful Doc (Russell Hodgkinson), the enigmatic 10K (Nat Zang), and the ex-military Addy (Anastasia Baranova).
Despite the wedding preparations, the reality of their situation is never far from Warren's mind. She is the leader of a group on a mission to deliver a cure to a lab in California, and they are currently being pursued by a group of merciless mercenaries who will stop at nothing to capture them.
As Warren and George exchange vows, they are unexpectedly interrupted by a group of stranger who arrived in a battered old car. They reveal that they are a group of musicians who have been traveling the country, performing for anyone who will listen. They've heard about the wedding and wanted to play a few tunes as a gift to the newlyweds.
The group gathers around the wedding party, and the musicians begin to play. For a few blissful moments, it feels as though the apocalypse has been forgotten, and everyone is simply celebrating the love between Warren and George.
But the illusion is short-lived. The mercenaries have tracked them down, and they launch an all-out assault on the wedding party. The group is forced to fight for their survival, with Warren taking charge and leading them into battle.
What follows is a tense and brutal fight scene, with the group using everything at their disposal to fend off the attackers. There are moments of intense fear and chaos, but the characters never lose sight of their ultimate goal of delivering the cure to California.
The action is interspersed with flashbacks, showing moments from Warren's past and her relationship with George. These moments help to give the episode a more emotional weight, as we see just how much these characters mean to each other.
As the battle rages on, Warren and her friends begin to gain the upper hand. They manage to take out the mercenaries one by one, until only a handful remain.
Just when it seems as though they have won, the remaining mercenaries reveal a final, deadly plan. Warren realizes that they will need to make a desperate, last-ditch effort in order to survive.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of the characters in question. As always, Z Nation manages to balance humor, heart, and horror in equal measure, making for an episode that is both thrilling and emotionally engaging.
