In Z Nation season 3 episode 2, titled "A New Mission," the survivors continue their journey across the post-apocalyptic United States in search of a new home. They have left their old base in North Dakota behind and are heading south, but face numerous obstacles along the way.
One of the obstacles they encounter is a group of survivors who have holed up in a hospital. The group has managed to fend off the zombie threat, but they are unable to leave due to a lack of supplies. The Z Nation survivors initially try to help the group by offering them some of their own supplies, but tensions rise when it becomes clear that the hospital group is unwilling to leave their safety behind and join the newcomers.
Meanwhile, the group meets an unusual ally in the form of a robot named "Abe," who has been programmed to aid in the fight against the zombie apocalypse. Abe serves as a scout for the group, helping them navigate dangerous terrain and scout ahead for potential threats.
As they journey further south, the group also encounters a cult led by a charismatic leader who promises salvation from the zombie plague. The cult members have created a compound in the middle of the desert and are convinced that they are immune to the zombie virus. However, as the Z Nation survivors soon discover, things may not be as they seem within the cult.
Throughout the episode, the survivors grapple with questions of trust and loyalty as they try to navigate a world where the rules have been completely rewritten. Despite the challenges they face, however, they remain determined to keep moving forward and find a new home where they can rebuild their lives.
