Yuri!!! on ICE is an anime television series that follows the journey of Yuri Katsuki, a talented Japanese figure skater who suffers a crushing defeat in a major competition. Dejected and unsure of what to do next, Yuri returns home to Kyushu, Japan, where he reunites with his family and contemplates his future in the sport.

It's during this time that Yuri's idol, renowned Russian figure skating champion Victor Nikiforov, notices a video of Yuri performing one of his routines and decides to become his coach. With Victor's help, Yuri looks to rekindle his love of figure skating and prove himself as a top contender once again.
