A new episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS season 3 has arrived, titled "Reflections." As per the show's premise, we will follow the iconic protagonist, Yusaku Fujiki, aka Playmaker, on his next adventure in the virtual world. The anime revolves around a popular online game called "LINK VRAINS," set in a futuristic landscape where players battle each other inside a virtual world using various virtual monsters.
The narrative of this episode revolves around the aftermath of the previous battle. In the previous episode, we saw an intense match between Specter and Soulburner, which left the audience on the edge of their seats. Soulburner emerged victorious, but the victory came at a high cost, resulting in an emotionally charged Soulburner deciding to take a break from LINK VRAINS.
In this episode, we see Yusaku visiting Soulburner and trying to lift his spirits. Yusaku comes bearing good news and a possible solution to a problem they all have been facing. Yusaku reveals to Soulburner and Takeru, aka Flame, that he has been setting up a meeting with his friend, who might be able to help them. The meeting will take place in a few days, which means that they don't have much time to prepare.
Meanwhile, the audience also gets a chance to witness a duel between Ghost Girl and Aqua, two supporting characters. Ghost Girl is a skilled duelist representing the "Hanoi" organization, which intends to take control of LINK VRAINS. Aqua is a newbie duelist who is giving her all in the duel. We get to see how far Ghost Girl has come as a duelist, displaying her keen ability to adapt to her opponent's moves. Aqua, on the other hand, gives it her all and attempts to give Ghost Girl maybe her toughest duel yet. This sub-plot provides the audience with a fresh take on the anime and keeps them entertained with a quality duel.
The episode's title, "Reflections," can be interpreted in several ways. We see Yusaku reflecting on his journey and how far he has come. He thinks back to the times when he battled the Knights of Hanoi when he discovered the truth about the Ignis and the AI language. We also see Soulburner reflecting on his past and his motivations as a duelist. The episode showcases a few flashbacks, which provide the audience with insight into the duelist's personalities and what motivates them to keep fighting.
Throughout the episode, we get to see solid character development, especially when it comes to the main characters. Yusaku's unwavering dedication to helping his friends and saving LINK VRAINS is awe-inspiring. We see Soulburner's character evolve as he goes through an emotional rollercoaster, making him a more relatable character. As mentioned earlier, this episode does not disappoint when it comes to duels either. While the battles are not as intense as previous episodes, they are still entertaining and will keep audiences engaged.
To sum up, "Reflections," is yet another great episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS season 3, filled with character development and a fantastic duel. We get to see Yusaku's unwavering determination to defeat his enemies and protect his friends. We also witness the consequences and emotional toll of losing a match in LINK VRAINS, which makes the anime even more relatable. The sub-plot, showcasing the duel of two supporting characters, keeps the audience engaged and entertained during the episode. "Reflections" is an episode that Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS fans shouldn't miss.
