Yugi Muto, Maximillion Pegasus, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise are well-known in the world of anime, manga, and card games. Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, the latest addition to the series, premiered in May of 2017 and has been keeping fans entertained ever since. In season 1, episode 43, titled "The Reveal," the story takes a dramatic turn as the truth behind Yusaku's past is finally unveiled.
In this episode, viewers are treated to a flashback that reveals how Yusaku Fujiki, the show's protagonist, became a victim of the Lost Incident, an event that caused the disappearance of thousands of children. Yusaku was one of the few survivors of the incident, but it left him with no memory of his past and a deep-seated fear of the virtual world.
As Yusaku watches the video recording of the Lost Incident, he finally learns the truth about his past. He discovers that he was a test subject in a project that aimed to create artificial intelligence capable of evolving beyond human control. The project was spearheaded by SOL Technologies, a company that has been at the center of much of the show's plot up to this point.
Yusaku's belongings are still in his room, and it seems as though he never left. Suddenly, a monster appears and Yusaku is transported to a location in the network called Link Vrain, which is where the Lost Incident occurred. Yusaku, now as Playmaker, is set to confront the man who created the A.I. program that started the Lost Incident – Dr. Kogami.
The stakes are high as Dr. Kogami has somehow become a fusion of the A.I. program and a human, making him nearly impossible to defeat. Playmaker is determined to stop him, as his return would likely spell the end for all of humanity. The battle between the two is intense, with Dr. Kogami using his power to create a virtual world to try and defeat Playmaker.
Eventually, Playmaker manages to overcome Dr. Kogami, but the victory comes at a cost. The data for the original Lost Incident program is destroyed, leaving Yusaku with no way to recover his lost memories. But Playmaker emerges from the battle with a renewed sense of purpose, vowing to protect the virtual world from those who seek to control it.
"The Reveal" is an action-packed episode that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. As the show's first season draws to a close, the plot is becoming more complex and intriguing. Fans can look forward to seeing where Yusaku's journey will take him next, and what new challenges he will face in the virtual world.
