Ep 40. Gore at War

After defeating Specter in the previous episode, Playmaker somehow transported himself and the Knights of Hanoi to a different location in the network. Meanwhile, Blood Shepherd and Ghost Girl made their way to the same location with the intention of capturing Playmaker.

As they explored the area, Playmaker and the Knights of Hanoi discovered that they were in a city surrounded by a barrier of data, which seemed to have been created by an unknown source. They soon found out that the city was being ruled by a new Ignis named Lightning, who had quickly established himself as a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Lightning had taken control of the city by brainwashing the majority of its citizens and building a massive army of Dueling AIs called the Gore. These powerful AIs were programmed to protect the city and Thunder's reign at all costs, even if it meant sacrificing themselves in battle.
