Liza Miller is going through a transition in her life. She is 40 years old and has separated from her husband before finally being able to be her true self with the support of her friends. Liza's professional life has been looking up with her working as a marketing director.
In episode 10 of Younger's sixth season, titled "It's All About the Money, Honey," Liza is forced to confront her relationship with money and the role it plays in her life. As a marketing director at Empirical Press, she has been tasked with finding a way to monetize the author's social media presence. Liza is confident that she will be successful in this effort since she is aware of the social and cultural significance of the author whose social media presence she is trying to monetize.
Liza pulls all the stops and puts her creative talents to work, coming up with a pitch that is sure to win over the author and her fans. However, there is another wrinkle when the author's ex comes into play, stirring feelings of jealousy and revenge in the author. As things spiral out of control, Liza begins to fear losing her job and her dream of becoming an editor.
Meanwhile, Charles, her boss, has been struggling to save Empirical's reputation. He goes to his trusted confidante, Diana, for help. Diana, in turn, turns to Liza for a solution to Empirical's problems. With much at stake, Liza and Diana turn to a wise investor for advice on how to resolve their financial woes.
In the end, money takes center stage as the characters grapple with what it means to be successful in their careers and lives. Through it all, Liza learns valuable lessons about the power of money and the importance of being honest with oneself and others.
