He also samples some of their innovative sides, including mac and cheese topped with crispy fried onions and smoked cheddar.
Next, John heads to the Dam Pub in the picturesque town of Thornbury, located at the base of the Blue Mountains. This cozy Scottish pub boasts an impressive collection of over 600 whiskies from around the world, as well as delicious pub fare with a tartan twist. John meets with the owner, who explains the art of pairing whiskies with food and gives him a tour of their massive whisky wall. He then tries the lamb burger, topped with feta cheese and tzatziki sauce, as well as the mouth-watering haggis fritters.
Finally, John visits the Landmark Cafe in Guelph, a charming cafe located in a historic stone building that dates back to 1828. The owner, a former chef, takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients to create delicious comfort food dishes with a gourmet twist. John tries their famous cornbread waffles topped with fried chicken and apple cider syrup, as well as their maple bacon grilled cheese sandwich and loaded chili cheese fries.
