- February 13, 2015
In Yo-kai Watch season 1 episode 56, viewers get treated to three different tales of the supernatural in what's known as the Yo-Kai Folk Tales. The first story is called Crane's Return of a Favor and tells the story of a crane who repays a debt to a kind old man. This uplifting tale combines a bit of Japanese folklore with an important lesson about returning kindness.
The second story, Yo-kai Urayamashir, focuses on envy and the negative emotions it can bring about. A green-eyed Yo-kai with snake-like features named Urayamashir possesses a young girl and incites feelings of jealousy towards her friends. It's up to Nate and his Yo-kai friends to find a way to rid the girl of Urayamashir's influence and restore peace to her relationships.
Finally, Yo-kai Samugari is the story of an unusual snowstorm that seems to be caused by a mischievous Yo-kai. The group of friends venture out into the cold to try and find the source of the freezing weather and come face to face with Samugari, a Yo-kai known for its love of snow and ice.
Throughout all of these tales, viewers are treated to a healthy dose of humor, heart, and some seriously creative imagery. Whether it's the sight of a giant crane taking flight or the unnerving vision of a little girl turning into a menacing snake-like creature, Yo-kai Watch season 1 episode 56 delivers plenty of exciting, thought-provoking content. Fans of anime, young and old, will definitely find something to enjoy in these captivating and entertaining stories.
