Greg Needs a Friend is the thirteenth episode of the fourth season of the American sitcom Yes, Dear. The show follows the lives of two young couples, Greg and Kim Warner, and their neighbors, Jimmy and Christine Hughes, who happen to be Greg's brother and sister-in-law, as they navigate the ups and downs of family life in suburban Los Angeles.
In this episode, Greg (played by Anthony Clark) is feeling lonely and unhappy. Kim (played by Jean Louisa Kelly) is busy with their two young children, and Jimmy (played by Mike O'Malley) is focused on his job and his own family. Greg tries to reach out to his old college roommate, but he is too busy to meet up. Feeling down and alone, Greg decides to go to a coffee shop and strike up a conversation with a friendly stranger named Scott (played by guest star Zach Galifianakis).
Meanwhile, Kim and Christine (played by Liza Snyder) are excited about their upcoming weekend getaway to a spa, but their plans are threatened when Jimmy accidentally backs his car into Kim's, causing extensive damage. Jimmy tries to take matters into his own hands and fix the car himself, but only makes matters worse. In a last ditch effort to salvage the trip, Jimmy convinces a reluctant Greg to accompany him and the kids to a nearby amusement park for the day.
Back at the coffee shop, Greg is having a great time chatting with Scott, who seems to have a lot in common with him. However, when Scott invites Greg to hang out later that night, Greg begins to feel uneasy. He starts to wonder if Scott is hitting on him, and becomes increasingly uncomfortable as Scott's behavior becomes more and more suggestive.
As the day at the amusement park wears on, Jimmy and Greg have a heart-to-heart conversation about their friendship and their roles in each other's lives. Jimmy admits that he has been neglecting Greg and promises to make more of an effort to be there for him in the future. The two men reconcile and return home to their wives, who are happy to see that they are getting along again.
At the coffee shop, things take a strange turn when Scott reveals that he is actually a police officer investigating a series of robberies in the area. He asks Greg if he can identify a suspect from a lineup, and Greg agrees to help out. However, when Greg points out the wrong person, Scott becomes angry and accuses him of obstructing justice. The situation escalates quickly, and Greg finds himself in a tense confrontation with Scott.
In the end, Greg is able to explain himself and clear things up with Scott, who apologizes for the misunderstanding. Kim and Christine return from their trip, and the entire group sits down for a game of poker, happy to be reunited and enjoying each other's company. The episode ends on a sweet note, with the four friends laughing and joking together as the credits roll.
Overall, Greg Needs a Friend is a funny and heartwarming episode of Yes, Dear that explores themes of loneliness, friendship, and the importance of staying true to oneself. Anchored by strong performances from the cast, including a hilarious turn from Zach Galifianakis, the episode is sure to please fans of the show and newcomers alike.
