Ep 3. The Dirty Half Dozen

She devises a plan to distract the soldiers by setting off an explosion on one side of the compound, while the rest of the group sneaks in from the other side. The plan works, and they are able to steal the grain and distribute it to the villagers.

However, their success is short-lived. They are ambushed by the government soldiers on their way back to the Dirty Half Dozen's hideout. In the ensuing battle, Xena is severely wounded. The group manages to escape, but they know that they need to get Xena medical help quickly.

The episode concludes with the group coming up with a plan to sneak Xena into a nearby village and get her the medical attention that she needs. As they carry her through the forest, they encounter a young boy who has lost his entire family to the corruption of the government officials. Xena, still weak from her injuries, takes the time to comfort the boy and assures him that they will do everything in their power to make sure that justice is done.
