WWE WrestleMania 29 was the 29th annual WrestleMania event produced by WWE. The event took place on April 7, 2013, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The show was one of the largest WrestleMania events ever produced and featured some of the biggest stars in professional wrestling at the time.
The event began with a pre-show that featured a tag team match between Team Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow) and Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) with the Funkadactyls (Naomi and Cameron) serving as special guest referees. Team Rhodes Scholars won the match after Cody Rhodes hit Tensai with his finishing move, the Disaster Kick.
The main card of the event kicked off with The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns) taking on Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Big Show in a six-man tag team match. The match was fast-paced and hard-hitting, with The Shield ultimately emerging victorious after Roman Reigns speared Randy Orton for the win.
Next up was Mark Henry taking on Ryback in a singles match. The match was billed as a battle of strength, with both men looking to prove who was the strongest. Ryback managed to get the win after hitting Henry with his finishing move, the Shell Shocked.
The next match on the card was for the WWE Tag Team Championship, as Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) defended their titles against Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston with AJ Lee in their corner. The fourth match on the card was for the Intercontinental Championship, as Wade Barrett defended his title against The Miz. The Miz managed to get the win after hitting Barrett with the Skull-Crushing Finale, becoming the new Intercontinental Champion.
Following that, Chris Jericho took on Fandango in a singles match. Fandango was making his WrestleMania debut and his unique entrance, featuring a group of dancers, was a highlight of the show. Despite the fanfare, Jericho managed to get the win after hitting Fandango with the Codebreaker.
The next match was the No Holds Barred match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar. The match was billed as a grudge match, with Triple H looking for revenge on Lesnar for injuring him in a previous match. The match was brutal, with both men using chairs, steel steps, and other weapons during the match. In the end, Triple H emerged victorious after hitting Lesnar with his finishing move, the Pedigree.
Next up was The Undertaker defending his undefeated WrestleMania streak against CM Punk. The match was one of the highlights of the show, with both men putting on a fantastic performance. Despite his best efforts, Punk was unable to end The Undertaker's streak, and The Undertaker emerged victorious after hitting Punk with his finishing move, the Tombstone piledriver.
The penultimate match of the night was the WWE Championship match between The Rock and John Cena. The match had been hyped for months, with Cena looking to avenge his loss to The Rock at the previous year's WrestleMania. In the end, Cena managed to get the win, hitting The Rock with his finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment, to become the new WWE Champion.
Finally, the show ended with a fireworks display and John Cena celebrating his victory in front of the crowd. Overall, WrestleMania 29 was a fantastic show, featuring some of the biggest stars in professional wrestling and some incredible matches.
