In the sixth episode of season 12 of "Would I Lie to You?" the show's regular panelists, David Mitchell and Lee Mack, are joined by guest stars Alex Brooker, Tracy Ann Oberman, Sara Pascoe, and Chris Ramsey.
The show opens with the traditional comedic introduction by host Rob Brydon, where he jokes about the guests and their careers. He then explains the rules of the show, where the panelists take turns reading out statements about their lives, and the opposing team has to guess whether they are true or false. The opposing team can ask questions and try to catch the person out, and if they correctly guess whether the statement is true or false they get a point.
In the first round, Tracy Ann Oberman claims that she once met David Bowie in the toilets at a restaurant, and when she told him she loved his work, he replied "don’t pretend to know me baby." The opposing team guesses that this statement is true, but they are in for a shock. In the second round, Chris Ramsey claims that he once lost his car at the airport for three weeks, and only discovered it in the car park when a security guard found it and called him. The opposing team guesses that this is true, but they are surprised to find out that it is false.
The third round features Sara Pascoe, who claims that an episode of a TV show was once dedicated to her because of an error. The opposing team guesses that this is false, but they are once again wrong. Next up is Alex Brooker, who claims that he once got stuck in a zip line in front of a live audience while filming a TV show. The opposing team guesses that this is true, and they are correct.
After the first four rounds, the scores are tied and the tension is high. The show then moves on to a special round called "This is my," where each panelist brings out a mystery object and has to convince the opposing team that it belongs to them. Sara Pascoe brings out a boomerang, Alex Brooker brings out a Fidget Spinner, Tracy Ann Oberman brings out a pair of handcuffs, and Chris Ramsey brings out a leather jacket. The opposing team try to guess who the objects belong to, and the panelists have to try and fool them.
The final round, called "Quick-fire Lies," sees the panelists reading out a series of quick-fire statements that are either true or false, and the opposing team has to guess which ones are true. This round is always fast-paced and entertaining, with the panelists trying to outwit each other and the opposing team.
As the show comes to a close, the points are tallied up and the winner is announced. The panelists and the opposing team joke around and congratulate each other, and the show ends on a high note. "Would I Lie to You?" is a hilarious and entertaining show that always delivers laughs and surprises, and this episode is no exception.
