Ep 5. Episode 5

In this episode of "Would I Lie To You?" the show welcomes actors Carol Vorderman, Rob Brydon, along with journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy and comedian Romesh Ranganathan. As always, the two teams - captained by David Mitchell and Lee Mack - will be given outrageous stories about themselves and asked to distinguish between the truth and the lies.

Throughout the episode, each guest will take their turn reading out bizarre and often unbelievable statements about their past experiences. The opposing teams will have to decide whether the story is fact or fiction, with the aim of fooling the other side into choosing incorrectly.

In the first round, the contestants tell stories about their encounters with notorious criminals, which, as always, are guaranteed to make the audience laugh. They also have to guess if it's true that one team member met a famous wrestler in a snowy deserted car park.

Later on, the focus shifts to the two stories that each guest brings along with them - one that is true, and one that is entirely made up. The challenge is to try and smuggle the lie past the opposing team by telling it like it's a genuine occurrence. Some of the stories include a celebrity meet-and-greet gone wrong, an awkward misunderstanding with a famous chef and an incredible coincidence involving a long-lost relative.

In the “Quick-fire Lies” round, all guests must read out amusing anecdotes or unusual facts about themselves. The opposing team has the challenge of deciding whether it's true or false in just 60 seconds.

The show also includes amusing home truths and outrageous claims by the team captains, David and Lee, about their personal life and experiences. As an added twist, the guests compete against each other by trying to make outrageous statements sound like truth and fooling the other players in a bonus round.

Throughout the program, the guests are witty, charming, and have the audience laughing out loud. They try to win points by being convincing and by bluffing their way through tall tales about their past lives. The show offers a combination of laughter, entertainment and excitement, as audiences try to guess whether stories are fact or fiction.

All in all, "Would I Lie To You?" Season 12, Episode 5 is a delightful continuation of the show's ongoing theme of outrageous truths and impossible-to-believe lies, filled with wit, charm, and humor. It's an excellent episode for anyone who wants to spend an hour in the company of some of the funniest comedians, actors and journalists the UK has to offer.
