Would I Lie To You? is a comedic panel game show that first premiered on BBC One in 2007. The show is hosted by Rob Brydon and features two teams, each consisting of a celebrity guest and two regular panelists. The aim of the game is for the teams to try and guess whether their opponent's bizarre and sometimes unbelievable stories are true or false.
Season 12 of the show kicked off with episode 1, and it was as hilarious and entertaining as ever. The teams for this episode were made up of actor and comedian Joe Lycett, presenter and journalist Victoria Coren Mitchell, and regular panelists David Mitchell and Lee Mack.
The opening sequence started with Rob Brydon introducing the guests, and as usual, the panelists took the opportunity to poke fun at each other and make some cheeky comments. The tone was immediately set for a fun and lively episode.
First up was Joe Lycett, who delivered a story about his experience of being accused of stealing a penguin from a theme park. The story was complete with hilarious details such as the penguin's name being Colin, and Lycett using a cardboard cut-out of a penguin to convince the park staff that he didn't have the real thing.
The opposing team had to decide whether Lycett was telling the truth or not, and while the story seemed plausible, there were some details that raised suspicion. The exchange between the panelists as they tried to decipher the truth was hilarious, and it was clear that both teams were in it to win.
Next up was Victoria Coren Mitchell, who told a story that involved her stealing a sandwich from a stranger's plate in a café. The story seemed outrageous, but Mitchell is known for her quirky humor and quick wit, so it was anyone's guess whether she was telling the truth or not.
The panelists on both teams grilled Mitchell on the details of the story, and in the end, they had to make a collective decision on whether they believed her or not. The tension was high, but even when they found out the truth, the laughter didn't stop.
The third and final story of the episode belonged to Lee Mack, who claimed that he once got lost in a maze for over five hours. The story was one that seemed too crazy to be true, but Mack delivered it with such confidence that it left everyone questioning whether it was a lie or not.
As the teams tried to figure out the truth, they engaged in witty banter and playful teasing, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. In the end, the opposing team had to make a decision on whether they believed Mack's story or not, and the audience was left on the edge of their seats as they waited for the truth to be revealed.
Overall, the first episode of season 12 of Would I Lie To You? was a huge success. The humor was on point, the stories were outrageous, and the panelists were as hilarious as ever. It's clear that this show is one that will continue to keep audiences entertained for years to come, and fans can't wait to see what other outrageous stories the guests will come up with in future episodes.
