Team Summit waits while teammate Fran continues to be treated for hypothermia, not knowing how they will be able to continue. Team New Zealand maintains their 1st place standing arriving to Camp 4 and as the morning of Day 6 breaks, they depart on mountain bikes to begin the final leg. Just a few hours behind, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams make it to Camp 4 - in hot pursuit of the Kiwis. After a frustrating night of being lost, Team Bend Racing wakes up with a renewed positive spirit and continues on. Team Khukuri Warriors enjoys the beauty of the white-water rafting, though for Team Able Abels the ongoing wear and tear of the race is taking its toll. Team Stray Dogs is feeling their age as they suffer through the muddy mountain bike section. Farther ahead, Team Endure is midway through the trek to Camp 3 and continues to progress, despite Mark Macey's deteriorating condition. Team Summit member Fran has recovered enough to continue racing, but the experienced Spanish team have fallen to 10th place after being among the leaders for the first 5 days. At the top of Vuwa Falls, Team Bend Racing takes time to reflect on their families and life outside of the race. Race leading Team New Zealand retrieves the 5th and final race medallion after rappelling down the face of a 60-meter waterfall. With Teams Canada Adventure and Gippsland Adventure continuing to push, the front-running Kiwis hope they can finish the race during the night. Far back on the course and stuck in another Fijian rainstorm, the Abel daughters emotionally decide to end their race. As night falls, Team Mad Mayrs and Team Khukuri Warriors join forces on the long trek to Camp 3. Travis Macey becomes increasingly concerned with his father Mark's condition and convinces him to travel on horseback during the night. With only a few hours of open ocean kayaking until the finish line, Team New Zealand is forced to make a surprise "mayday" call that will potentially change the outcome of the race.
