Ep 7. Retreat

The show Workin' Moms follows the professional and personal lives of four women living in Toronto as they navigate motherhood, relationships, and their careers. In season two, episode seven, titled Retreat, the women are all struggling to balance their jobs and their responsibilities as mothers.

Kate, one of the four main characters, is feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work that she has to do for her job, as well as for her children. She decides to attend a weekend retreat to try and find some balance and peace in her life. At the retreat, Kate meets a group of women who are all experiencing similar struggles. Through various workshops, yoga sessions, and bonding time together, the women begin to share their stories and offer support to one another.

Meanwhile, Anne, another main character, is dealing with a different kind of challenge. She is trying to adjust to life as a single mother after her husband left her for a younger woman. Anne is determined to prove that she can handle everything on her own, but she is struggling to keep up with her job, her kids, and her social life. When she is invited to go on a date with a man she met online, Anne jumps at the opportunity, but quickly realizes that she is not quite ready to start dating again.

In another storyline, Frankie, a third main character, is dealing with the aftermath of her decision to have an abortion. She is feeling guilt and shame, and is unsure of how to talk to her friends or her boyfriend about what she has been through. When Frankie is assigned to work on a project with one of her colleagues, she is surprised to find that he is also dealing with the aftermath of an abortion. The two begin to bond over their shared experiences, and Frankie realizes that she is not alone in her struggles.

Finally, the fourth main character, Jenny, is trying to navigate her new job as a real estate agent. She is struggling to make sales, and is feeling discouraged by her lack of success. When Jenny's boss invites her to attend a networking event, she is hopeful that it will lead to some new leads and potential clients. However, when she arrives at the event, she discovers that she is the only woman in attendance, and the men are all dismissive of her capabilities as a real estate agent. Jenny is determined not to let their sexism get her down, and decides to use their attitudes as motivation to work harder and prove them wrong.

Throughout the episode, we see the women supporting each other and learning from their experiences. Despite their different struggles and challenges, they are all united by the common thread of motherhood and the desire to create a better life for themselves and their families. Workin' Moms season two episode seven, Retreat, is a poignant and uplifting exploration of the challenges and rewards of modern motherhood, and the power of female friendship.
