After five seasons of outrageous office antics and personal misadventures, the Workaholics are back for a sixth season of hijinks, hilarity, and head-scratching shenanigans. In season six, the trio of slackers-turned-troublemakers - Anders, Blake, and Adam - are faced with a whole new set of challenges as they try to navigate the murky waters of adulthood, responsibility, and the corporate world.
In episode five, entitled "Gone Catfishing," things take a wild turn when the boys decide to take a fishing trip in the hopes of catching a big one. However, their plans are quickly derailed when they become the unwitting victims of a catfishing scheme.
When they arrive at the lake, the guys are surprised to find that it's completely empty - not a single fish in sight. Frustrated and disappointed, they decide to call it a day and head back to the car, when they stumble upon a mysterious note taped to a nearby tree. The note leads them on a wild goose chase that eventually leads them to an unexpected encounter with a catfisher - someone who has been pretending to be someone they're not in order to scam unsuspecting victims online.
The boys are naturally skeptical of the catfisher's claims, and decide to take matters into their own hands by launching an elaborate scheme to expose the fraudster for who they really are. However, their plan backfires when they find themselves in even deeper trouble than before, and they're forced to rely on their wits and ingenuity to get themselves out of a sticky situation.
Throughout the episode, the Workaholics are up to their usual antics, including plenty of crude jokes, bickering, and juvenile pranks. However, there are moments of genuine heart and humanity, as the guys are forced to confront some difficult truths about themselves and their relationships with each other.
In particular, the episode explores the dynamic between Blake and Adam, who are typically at each other's throats. As the two are forced to work together to take down the catfisher, they begin to see each other in a new light, and develop a newfound respect for one another.
As with previous seasons of the show, Workaholics season six is chock-full of hilarious hijinks, irreverent humor, and moments of genuine heart. And "Gone Catfishing" is no exception - it's a wild ride that will leave audiences roaring with laughter and cheering for these lovable, if slightly misguided, goofballs.
