In Line is the nineteenth episode of the third season of Workaholics. The episode starts with the guys waiting in a seemingly never-ending line for a newly opened food truck. The trio is excited to taste the food, but as the day progresses, the line remains long, and they start to lose their patience.
The line becomes a symbol of their frustrations with life as they reflect on how they are stuck in their jobs and cannot seem to move forward. When they finally reach the food truck, they realize that they cannot even afford the food. This realization prompts them to assess their financial situation, which is not good. They are deep in debt and feel trapped in their current jobs that pay low wages.
Determined to change their situation, they devote the entire day to getting out of debt. They look for ways to save money, including turning off their air conditioning and cutting off their cable. However, their efforts are not fruitful, and they feel hopeless. They realize that they need to work harder and get better-paying jobs.
Ders spots an advertisement for a job at a law firm and urges the guys to apply. The job pays well and could be the solution to their financial problems. The three friends start to prepare for the job interview, practicing their lines and dressing in their best suits.
At the law firm, the guys are surprised to see that the job is for a mailroom position. They are disappointed but decide to go ahead with the interview anyway. They soon realize that the job is not what it seems. The interviewer, played by comedian Chris D'Elia, is an eccentric and unpredictable person who does not seem interested in the mailroom position.
He asks the guys odd questions such as whether they prefer cats or dogs and if they have ever stolen anything. The interview soon turns into a competition as the friends try to one-up each other. However, they soon realize that the competition is not worth it when they witness the interviewer's true nature.
The guys leave the interview feeling disillusioned but soon find out that the interview was a test of character. The interviewer offers the job to Blake, who he has determined has the most integrity. Blake feels guilty about accepting the job, knowing that his friends also need it.
In the end, Blake decides to turn down the job, realizing that he cannot leave his friends behind. This act of solidarity inspires the friends to work harder towards achieving their goals. They leave the law firm feeling optimistic about their future.
