Becky and the Bard / Monkey Robot Showdown is the thirteenth episode of the second season of the popular animated children's show, WordGirl. The episode starts off with Becky, who is also known as WordGirl, being asked by her teacher to help out with the school play. Becky is thrilled and excited to participate. She's given the task of writing the script for the play, which is about the famous playwright William Shakespeare.
While Becky is hard at work, the evil Dr. Two-Brains is busy hatching a plan to steal a Shakespeare manuscript from the library. This manuscript is said to contain the unpublished works of Shakespeare, and Dr. Two-Brains believes that he can use its power to take over the world. He sends his monkey assistant, Inky, to retrieve the manuscript while he devises a way to steal it from him.
However, Inky has his own plans. He wants to become a famous playwright like Shakespeare and uses the manuscript to write his own play. When he performs his play in front of the mayor, everyone is impressed, but Becky begins to see that something is not quite right. Inky's play doesn't have the same level of depth and language as Shakespeare's plays, and she suspects that something is wrong.
With the help of her superhero alter-ego, WordGirl, Becky begins to investigate and uncovers Dr. Two-Brains' plan to steal the manuscript. She teams up with Inky and together they are able to stop Dr. Two-Brains and his monkey robot from stealing the manuscript. But not before Inky proves that he's not just a monkey assistant, he's a talented playwright in his own right.
The episode ends with the school play being a huge success thanks to Becky's hard work and Inky's newfound love of writing. The students and teachers are thrilled with the play and are impressed with the way that Becky managed to make Shakespeare accessible and entertaining to a younger audience.
Overall, Becky and the Bard / Monkey Robot Showdown is a fun and educational episode of WordGirl. It teaches children about teamwork, the importance of hard work, and introduces them to the world of Shakespeare. The show is perfect for children who love superheroes, action, and adventure, and is an excellent tool for parents who want to introduce their children to more complex literary concepts.
