In the world of Witch Hunter Robin, witches are individuals with the power to manipulate reality itself. With the ability to control both living and non-living matter, they pose a serious threat to normal humans. In order to combat this threat, the STN-J was created as a special unit of the government tasked with tracking down and neutralizing witches.
In the first episode, titled "Replacement," a new member joins the STN-J team. Her name is Robin Sena, and she possesses powerful abilities as a witch hunter. However, she is not like the other members of the team. She is quiet and reserved, with a mysterious past that has left her emotionally guarded.
The episode opens with the STN-J team chasing after a witch who has been causing destruction in the city. The witch is able to control fire and has caused several explosions in her wake. The team is able to track her down and apprehend her, but not without some difficulty.
After returning to their headquarters, the team is introduced to Robin. She is there to replace a former member of the team who recently retired. The team members are surprised to learn that Robin possesses special powers that make her a valuable asset to the team. However, they are also confused by her quiet demeanor and rumors begin to circulate about her past.
Despite the initial awkwardness among the team, Robin is quick to prove her worth when they are called to investigate a new witch sighting. The team arrives at an abandoned warehouse where they find evidence that a witch has been using the space to create golems, creatures made of clay and animated by magic.
As the team investigates, Robin notices a strange energy emanating from one of the golems. She follows the energy trail to a hidden room where she confronts the witch responsible for the golems. The witch is able to control the golems with her magic, but Robin is able to use her own power to destroy them.
After the witch is neutralized, Robin returns to the team and they return to headquarters. Despite their successful mission, the team is still unsure about Robin's role on the team. She remains quiet and aloof, leaving them with more questions than answers.
The episode ends with Robin looking out over the city at night, lost in thought. It is clear that she has a troubled past and that her reasons for joining the STN-J are not entirely clear. However, her abilities as a witch hunter are undeniable, and it seems that she will prove to be an important member of the team as they continue their work to protect the city from dangerous witches.
