Ep 7. Next of Kin

One of Pinzolo's drivers steals a dress off the Elrose dock and Eli Sternberg chases him down an alley. To make sure Eli doesn't get hurt, Vinnie follows right behind. Unfortunately, Vinnie is hit by a passing car and is rushed to the hospital with a broken leg and several cracked rib. Vinnie calls McPike from his hospital bed and suggests he wrangle an invitation to Pinzolo's banquet that night. At the banquet, McPike learns that Pinzolo had promised to bankroll Matt Borkowski's bid for mayor and pulled out at the last minute. Reporter Jack Corbridge tells McPike that Pinzolo doesn't want Borkowski mayor until he can find another puppet to run the Harbor Commission. After all, whoever owns the harbors owns New York.
