Ep 2. Twisted Sister

Joe and Brian were having a barbeque at Joe's house when they encounter a nurse from Sandpiper, Sue, who Joe finds attractive. Meanwhile, Antonio is worried that his sister is in town to meet her internet boyfriend, who he thinks may be a fraud. When his sister, Lupe, arrives, she brings a friend with her, a transgender woman named Carla, who causes a stir in the town. Helen is ecstatic to have Carla in the picture and even asks her to model for her art class, which leads to outrage from a group of conservative parents. As the town divides over Carla's presence, Joe and Brian's attraction to Sue transforms into something more twisted than they could have imagined. When Joe and Brian discover that Sue has a twin sister named Patty, they are over the moon. However, they soon realize that the twins are nothing alike, and Patty turns out to be the twisted sister they never knew they wanted. In the end, everyone in Nantucket is dealing with their issues in their own ways, but the town remains divided by Carla's presence. Joe and Brian come to understand that having a twisted sister might be more trouble than it's worth, while Antonio learns that his sister has some surprises of her own. Helen brings Carla's portrait to the art exhibit and it becomes a polarizing piece in the show. The episode ends on a note of acceptance and reconciliation as the town learns to overcome their prejudice and embrace their differences, including Carla's friend Patty.
