She was an advocate for women's rights and was known to be progressive in her views. She even designed a line of clothing for women who wanted to participate in outdoor activities, such as bicycling and hiking.

However, Annie's life was not without its challenges. She suffered tragedy in the form of multiple miscarriages and the loss of her beloved husband Frank. But through it all, she remained strong and persevered. She continued to tour and perform, even into her 60s.
