Ep 17. Puffin Rescue

In season 4 episode 17 of Wild Kratts, titled "Puffin Rescue," the Kratt brothers embark on a mission to save the puffins in the North Atlantic Ocean. The episode begins with Chris and Martin on their Creature Power Suit HQ, where they receive a message from a group of puffins in trouble.

The brothers quickly switch to their puffin Creature Power Suits and fly off to the rescue. As they approach the location, they notice that the sea around the birds is covered in plastic, causing the puffins to struggle to swim and dive for food. The Kratt brothers spring into action and scoop up the puffins to bring them to safety.

Once they have the puffins back on their ship, they discover that the plastic pollution in the ocean is even worse than they had thought. The Kratt brothers explain to the audience how plastic can be very harmful to wildlife when it makes its way into the ocean. Animals can mistake it for food, swallow it, and choke, or become entangled in it, making it difficult to move or breathe.

Chris and Martin decide to head to the source of the plastic and find out why so much is ending up in the ocean. They discover that a nearby town has a landfill and poorly secured trash containers, causing plastic to blow into the sea. The brothers devise a plan to clean up the plastic and prevent more from ending up in the ocean.

They team up with some local volunteers and use nets and boats to collect the plastic from the ocean, while their Creature Powers allow them to dive deep to retrieve items from the ocean floor. After multiple trips, they successfully clean up the area, and the puffins can finally swim and dive for food without struggling.

The episode ends with the Kratt brothers reflecting on how humans can make a difference in preserving the natural world by making small changes in their lifestyle, such as using reusable bags and bottles instead of single-use plastic. They encourage the audience to take action, no matter how small, to help protect wildlife and their habitats.

In "Puffin Rescue," the Wild Kratts team uses their Creature Powers to not only save animals in need but to also educate the audience on the dangers of plastic pollution in the ocean. Through teamwork and determination, they successfully clean up the area and make it a safer place for wildlife to thrive.
