In the episode Tortuga Tune Up from season 2 of Wild Kratts, the Kratt brothers are in the middle of trying to fix the creature-inspired Tortuga when they discover that Donita Donata is stealing animals and using them to make her very own creature fashion line. The brothers jump into action and try to stop this villain from causing any more harm to the animal kingdom.
The episode starts with Chris and Martin working on the Tortuga, the mobile headquarters of the Wild Kratts. Tortuga is not in a very good condition as there are some glitches in the gadgetry and they are facing some trouble with the engines. They realize that they need to prepare Tortuga for one of the expeditions, but it is not in the condition to go on such a mission. The Kratt brothers work together with Aviva and Koki, two of their friends to fix up Tortuga. Aviva creates a new supply of power cells while Koki and Martin fix up the engines. Chris and Aviva work on repairing the gadgets and Donita Donata sneaks aboard the Tortuga when they are not looking.
Donita Donata is an animal fashion designer who is often seen in her vibrant fashion outfits made from different animals. Her latest catch are the pangolins, a species of mammal that has unique scales that they use as a protective armor. Donita has captured the pangolins and has plans to use their scales for her new fashion line.
The Kratt brothers detect that Donita has entered the Tortuga when they spot her monitoring device attached to their communications tower. They realize that she is up to no good and they need to act fast to stop her from stealing more animals. They investigate further and find out that Donita has stolen pangolins, slow lorises, and a variety of other creatures. She has also made her own flight suit with the scales of the pangolin, something the Kratt brothers find quite odd.
Chris and Martin team up with Aviva and Koki and design new gadgets that can help them in their mission to stop Donita from stealing any more animals. They experiment with different inventions to try and capture Donita and her minions. They finally come up with a spy tortoise, which they use to get the information on Donita's plan, and track her to her hideout.
Donita's fashion line is up and running with models walking the ramp in her latest creations, made from the scales of the pangolin. The Kratt brothers sneak into the fashion show, disguised as models, and try to free the animals that Donita has captured. They're unable to do much when Donita takes the stage to showcase her latest creation - a gown made entirely of slow loris venom. The Kratt brothers jump into action and call in their creature friends to help them stop Donita.
Throughout the episode, the Kratt brothers teach the audience about pangolins and slow lorises and their importance in the natural world. They stress the importance of conservation and protecting animals from being exploited for commercial purposes. The episode also teaches children about teamwork, problem-solving, and the importance of using science and technology for the greater good.
The episode ends with Donita being thwarted once again and the Kratt brothers successfully rescuing the captured animals. Tortuga is also back in working order, and the Kratt brothers are ready for their next adventure.
