Ep 38. The Gecko Effect

Chris and Martin Kratt are back with another exciting adventure, and this time they are exploring the world of geckos in season 1 episode 38 of Wild Kratts, named "The Gecko Effect."

The episode starts with the Kratt brothers in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona trying to find a way to study the geckos that live there. They meet up with their friend, Koki, who is on a mission to create Gecko Gloves that will allow humans to climb walls like geckos do.

As they set up their camp, they notice that their tent is covered in geckos. Chris and Martin are fascinated by these creatures, and they decide to observe them more closely to learn about their unique features. They use their Creature Power Suits to morph into geckos themselves and join the gecko party.

During their observation, they notice that the geckos' feet can stick to almost any surface. They also learn about the gecko's ability to change color to match their surroundings, allowing them to blend in perfectly with their environment. However, they soon realize that a praying mantis is hunting the geckos for food.

Just as they think they have seen all there is to learn about the gecko, they discover that the animal is capable of some incredible feat - regrowing missing limbs. Chris and Martin are amazed by this fact and realize that they have to keep observing these creatures to learn more about their spectacular abilities.

Koki succeeds in creating the Gecko Gloves and tries them out by scaling a vertical wall. However, the gloves fall apart, and she starts to slip. Chris and Martin quickly come to her rescue by morphing into geckos and scaling the wall to save her. They then had to come up with a new plan to create the perfect Gecko Gloves.

The Kratt brothers learn more about the gecko's adhesive quality and try to replicate it by studying the tiny hair-like structures, or setae, on their feet. Meanwhile, Aviva works on a new adhesive material, similar to a gecko's feet, to create new Gecko Gloves that will stick to any surface.

The Kratt brothers soon realize that the gecko's amazing adhesive quality is not just in their feet but also in their tails. By using their Creature Power Suits to morph into geckos, they acquire the tail's adhesive quality and use it to climb up the wall.

As the Kratt brothers continue to explore the gecko's incredible features, they notice that their new Gecko Gloves are working perfectly. Koki uses them to scale the wall with ease. The team celebrates their success by watching the sunset, knowing that they have learned so much about these remarkable creatures.

"The Gecko Effect" is an exciting episode of Wild Kratts that teaches kids about the gecko's unique features and its incredible abilities. The Kratt brothers use science and technology to help them understand these creatures better and, in turn, find solutions for the challenges they face.
