Ep 2. Is it Past Perfect?

Ji-eun begins to settle into her new life in the town of Buk Hyeon-ri, enjoying the peacefulness and beautiful countryside. However, she is constantly reminded of her past and her own personal demons that have driven her to escape to this small village. While running her cafe, she meets a charming man named Eun-seob who she hires as her part-time helper.

Elsewhere in the town, the members of the book club continue their monthly meeting, where they discuss the past and present tense in writing. Soon, they discover an old diary from a woman who used to live in the town a long time ago. They each take turns reading the diary out loud, and the entries reveal dark and tragic secrets about the woman's life. As they continue to read, they wonder what could have happened to her and if she is still alive.

Ji-eun becomes more and more curious about the diary and the woman who wrote it. She asks around town but no one seems to know anything about the woman or what happened to her. Despite the town's peaceful exterior, Ji-eun senses that there is something sinister that people are hiding from her.

As she continues to read the diary, Ji-eun finds herself drawn into the woman's story and begins to see similarities between her own life and the woman's. With the help of Eun-seob, Ji-eun sets out to uncover the woman's dark past and find out what happened to her. They follow a trail of clues and eventually discover a secret that has been hidden for decades.

Meanwhile, the members of the book club continue to read the diary and speculate about the woman's fate. They become increasingly invested in her story and discuss the power of writing to reveal hidden truths.

In the end, Ji-eun and Eun-seob uncover the truth about the woman's past and are able to lay her tragic secret to rest. Ji-eun also begins to come to terms with her own past and the reasons why she came to Buk Hyeon-ri in the first place. As she looks out at the beautiful scenery and the sky, she knows that despite the darkness that lies beneath, there is still hope and beauty in the world.
