Ep 4. Family Matters

Bill and Lucas become business partners and plan to open a saloon. Elizabeth is delighted to hear that Nathan and his niece will be staying in town, but his niece is not thrilled about staying in Hope Valley. Meanwhile, Carson is unsure if he's able to take care of a patient. When a member of the town becomes ill, Carson must put his doubts behind and focus on taking care of the patient. Nathan and his niece spend time together and bond over a life-changing experience. Meanwhile, Rosemary and Lee plan a surprise party for their anniversary, but Rosemary's attempt to take control turns disastrous. Overall, the episode centers around the importance of family, whether it be blood-related or not, and the challenges and joys that come with building those relationships.
