Mike Brewer and Edd China are back for the second part of their quest to find and revive a Ferrari 308 GT4. In the previous episode, the guys found a neglected car in need of some serious attention, and promptly shipped it off to the workshop to get started on the extensive restoration project.
In this episode, Mike and Edd pick up where they left off, digging deeper into the car's various issues and tackling some of the biggest challenges head-on. The first order of business is to get the engine running smoothly, so Edd sets to work rebuilding the carburetors and installing a new fuel system. With some careful tuning and a bit of elbow grease, they manage to get the motor running like new and even take it for a spin around the block.
Next up on the list of repairs is the car's interior. The seats and upholstery were in rough shape when Mike and Edd found the car, so they enlist the help of a local upholsterer to restore them to their former glory. The results are stunning, and the guys are thrilled with the new look of the cabin.
Of course, no Ferrari would be complete without a fresh coat of paint, so Mike and Edd take the car to a professional body shop for a top-to-bottom respray in its original shade of red. After several days of work, the car emerges looking brand new and ready to hit the road.
But there's still plenty of work to be done before the car is truly roadworthy, including replacing the exhaust system, rebuilding the suspension, and installing a new clutch and gearbox. With each of these tasks completed, the car is starting to look and feel like a real Ferrari.
As always, Mike and Edd spare no expense when it comes to making sure the car runs and performs as well as it looks. In the final stages of the restoration, they take the 308 GT4 to a local racetrack to put it to the test and fine-tune its performance. After several laps around the track, they're satisfied that the car is running at peak performance and ready to hit the open road.
By the end of the episode, the Ferrari 308 GT4 is transformed from a rusty old relic into a stunning, show-worthy masterpiece. Mike and Edd breathe new life into the classic Italian sports car and show viewers just what can be accomplished with a little hard work and elbow grease.
