Mike Brewer and Edd China are back in the workshop for another episode of Wheeler Dealers, and this time they've got their hands on a Porsche 944 Turbo. In this second part of the two-part episode, the guys are focused on getting the car back on the road, which means tackling some of the bigger issues that they discovered in the first episode.
First on the agenda is to fix the car's engine, which is running rough and producing smoke. Mike and Edd suspect that there may be something wrong with the turbocharger, so they take it out and have it tested. Sure enough, they find that the turbo needs to be replaced, so they set about finding a suitable replacement.
While Mike is on the hunt for a new turbo, Edd gets to work on other parts of the car, including the suspension and brakes. They discover that the suspension has been upgraded with aftermarket parts, some of which are worn and need to be replaced. Edd takes the opportunity to install some new shocks and springs, which will improve the car's handling and give it a more aggressive stance.
Next up is the braking system, which is in need of some attention. Mike and Edd inspect the brakes and find that the pads and discs need replacing. They also discover that one of the calipers is seized, so they replace it with a new one. With the brakes sorted, the car is starting to look and feel more like a Porsche again.
With the new turbocharger installed, it's time to fire up the engine and see if it runs smoothly. The guys are pleased to find that the turbo has fixed the smoke issue, and the car sounds much better with the new exhaust system they installed in the previous episode. However, there's still a bit of work to do before the car is ready to hit the road.
One thing that's been bugging Mike is the state of the interior. The seats are ripped and worn, and the dashboard is cracked and faded. So, he decides to give the interior a makeover. He sources some replacement seats and installs them, and Edd repairs the dashboard and installs a new stereo. The final touch is a new steering wheel, which gives the car a more modern look and feel.
With the car almost ready to hit the road, Mike takes it to a Porsche specialist for a final inspection. The expert gives the car the all-clear, and the guys take it for a test drive. They're pleased to find that the car is running smoothly and feels much better than it did when they first got their hands on it. With a few final tweaks, they're confident that they've turned the Porsche 944 Turbo into a great car that any enthusiast would be proud to own.
Overall, this episode of Wheeler Dealers is a great example of the kind of work that Mike and Edd do best. They take a car that's seen better days and turn it into a beautiful, functional machine that's fit for the road. If you're a fan of the show or just love cars in general, you won't want to miss this episode.
