Mike Brewer and Edd China are back in the garage for season 2, episode 9 of Wheeler Dealers. Their latest challenge is to work on an iconic British sports car, the MG MGB GT.
The episode begins with Mike and Edd scouring the classifieds for a suitable MG MGB GT to work on. They eventually find one that fits the bill - a 1972 model for £3,500. The car is in decent condition, but it needs some work to make it roadworthy again.
The first task for Mike and Edd is to give the MG MGB GT a thorough inspection. They discover that the car has some rust issues, which will need to be dealt with before they can move on to any other repairs. Edd gets to work on the bodywork while Mike sources replacement parts.
Once the rust has been dealt with, it's time to turn their attention to the engine. The MG MGB GT has a four-cylinder engine, which is notorious for oil leaks. Edd soon discovers that this is indeed the case with their car, so he sets to work on fixing the leaks.
The brakes also need attention, as they are not functioning properly. Edd replaces the brake pads and discs, and then moves on to the suspension. He replaces the worn-out suspension components with new parts, which should improve the car's handling.
With the major mechanical work complete, it's time for the final touches. Mike and Edd give the MG MGB GT a fresh coat of paint and add some finishing touches to the interior. They also decide to fit the car with wire wheels to give it a classic look.
Once all the work is complete, it's time for Mike and Edd to take the MG MGB GT for a test drive. The car handles beautifully and Mike is impressed with the improvements they've made. They then take the car to a local car show, where it attracts plenty of attention.
Overall, season 2, episode 9 of Wheeler Dealers is a great episode for fans of classic cars. Mike and Edd do an excellent job of restoring the MG MGB GT, and viewers will be delighted by the end result.
