In season 10, episode 6 of Wheeler Dealers, host Mike Brewer and mechanic Ant Anstead team up once again to tackle their latest restoration project: a TVR Cerbera. This rare and powerful sports car was originally produced in the UK in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and was known for its incredible speed and sleek design.
The episode begins with Mike and Ant tracking down a used TVR Cerbera in need of some serious TLC. They travel to a dealer in Wales, where they purchase a 1998 model with just over 50,000 miles on the clock. While the car looks great on the outside, it quickly becomes clear that there are some serious mechanical issues under the hood.
Back in the workshop, Ant begins disassembling the car to get a better look at its inner workings. He quickly identifies a number of problems, including a broken water pump and camshaft, a faulty alternator, and a malfunctioning throttle. To make matters worse, many of the car's original parts have been replaced with cheap aftermarket components, making the restoration job even more challenging.
Despite these setbacks, Ant remains undaunted. He sets to work replacing the faulty parts with new ones, and restores as many of the original components as possible. He also modifies the car's suspension to give it a smoother ride, and adds a few custom touches to make it stand out from other TVR Cerberas on the road.
Meanwhile, Mike takes on the task of finding a buyer for the newly restored Cerbera. He reaches out to a few interested parties, and arranges a test drive for a potential buyer named Richard. Richard is a longtime TVR fan, and is blown away by the car's performance and handling. He is particularly impressed by the custom touches that Ant has added, and ultimately decides to purchase the car at the asking price.
With the sale complete, Mike and Ant reflect on the success of their latest project. They note that while the TVR Cerbera presented a number of challenges, it was ultimately a rewarding and fulfilling restoration job. They also praise the car's unique design and incredible speed, noting that it truly is a one-of-a-kind sports car. As the episode comes to a close, they set their sights on their next restoration project, eager to take on the next challenge.
