In the second episode of the third season of Wentworth, titled "Falling Upwards," tensions continue to rise within the walls of the prison as new alliances are formed and old ones are challenged.
At the start of the episode, things are already beginning to heat up as new inmate Tasha is drawing attention with her brash and provocative behavior. As she starts to make inroads with some of the other prisoners, particularly Boomer, the guards are left scrambling to maintain a semblance of order.
Meanwhile, governor Vera finds herself in the crosshairs as she tries to navigate the competing demands of her superiors and the inmates under her watch. As she works to implement some new policies aimed at improving conditions within the prison, she finds herself at odds with both the prisoners and the staff.
As tensions boil over, several characters find themselves increasingly isolated and vulnerable. Franky, in particular, struggles to maintain her footing in the shifting power dynamics of the prison, while Liz faces a reckoning with her past.
Ultimately, the episode ends on a cliffhanger as several characters are left in perilous positions, their fates hanging in the balance. As the season continues, it remains to be seen who will come out on top and who will fall victim to the brutal realities of life behind bars.
