Meanwhile, Silas and Doug find a new way to make some quick cash by selling counterfeit handbags. Silas is excited about finally making some real money but finds himself in trouble when he gets caught by the police. Shane continues to struggle with his feelings about his father's death and forms a bond with a classmate who is going through a similar situation. Andy takes steps to move on with his life after being dumped by Nancy and starts dating a new woman, but finds himself struggling to connect with her emotionally. As Nancy's situation becomes increasingly desperate, she is forced to make a difficult decision that could have serious consequences for her and her family. The episode is titled 'A Modest Proposal', referencing Jonathan Swift's satirical essay of the same name which humorously suggests that the poor should sell their children as food to the wealthy to alleviate poverty.
