The episode opens with Nancy frantically searching for her son Silas, who has disappeared after a fight with his best friend. She eventually finds him at a nearby swimming pool, where he is practicing his backstroke in preparation for his upcoming tryouts.

Meanwhile, Nancy is dealing with her own set of problems. Her regular dealer, Heylia James, has cut her off after Nancy almost got caught by the police with a large stash of weed. Desperate for a new supplier, Nancy turns to her accountant, Doug Wilson, who suggests that she get her weed from a Mexican drug cartel. Nancy is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to meet with the cartel's representative, Guillermo.

At the same time, Nancy's brother-in-law, Andy, has returned from a trip to Alaska with a new girlfriend, Kat. Nancy suspects that Kat might be a con artist, and sets out to investigate her past.

As all of these plot lines unfold, we are also introduced to several new characters. There's Celia Hodes, Nancy's neighbor and a member of the PTA, who is struggling to cope with her husband's recent infidelity. Throughout the episode, there is a palpable sense of tension and uncertainty. Nancy is in a precarious position, as she tries to navigate the world of drug dealing without getting caught or murdered. Silas is struggling with his own insecurities, both about his swimming tryouts and about his relationship with his best friend. And Andy is grappling with his own demons, as he tries to move on from his previous relationship and start a new life.
