We Children from Bahnhof Zoo is a German television series based on the autobiographical novel Christiane F. which follows the story of a teenage girl, Christiane, and her troubled life in a notorious and drug-infested neighborhood in Berlin.

In the fourth episode, titled "Letters", Christiane receives a letter from her father, who abandoned her family when she was just a child. The letter triggers a range of emotions in Christiane as she reflects on her past and what could have been if her father had stayed.

Meanwhile, Christiane's friends Babsi and Benno are getting deeper into the drug scene, and Christiane is starting to feel left out. She meets with Stefan, a former addict who has turned his life around and now helps others struggling with addiction. Stefan opens up to Christiane about his own struggles with drugs, and she starts to see a glimmer of hope for her future.

At school, Christiane is struggling to focus and perform well in her classes. Her teacher notices her lack of interest and pulls her aside to have a heart-to-heart conversation. The teacher tells Christiane that she sees potential in her and urges her to pursue her dreams.

Finally, in a moment of desperation, Christiane turns to prostitution to make some money to support her drug habit. She meets with a client who treats her kindly and makes her feel valued, but the encounter quickly turns violent.

The episode ends with Christiane at a crossroads, unsure of what her future holds but determined to take control of her life and make a change for the better.

"Letters" is a pivotal episode in the series that explores the complex emotions and struggles that Christiane and her friends are facing. The episode maintains the show's raw and gritty realism, giving viewers an unflinching portrayal of the harsh realities of addiction and the difficult path towards recovery.
